I happen to be a silent member of this group
and received so many fantastic inspirational stories, poems,
pics and quotes. Thanks for the great contributors who had been
devoting their time for adding up little spice and hope.

Today, I want to share my story with you; perhaps, with a hope
of getting kind of sympathy from some of the wonderful members of this group.

I am a father of a son, RAAD, who is about 12 years.
From 7th year, he had been using glasses. No Doctor,
ever told us about the nature of eye disease. It was GLAUCOMA.
It is a rare disease that occurs 1 out of 10,000 eye patients
at this age. It is known as the silent thief of eye sight,
as due to increase in eye pressure, the optic nerves gets damaged
so slowly that it is difficult to feel the deterioration of eye sight.
So, when we came to know about it, it was too late. At the age of 11,
four years after his eye problem, some Eye Specialist `cared'
to measure his eye pressure and carried out Visual Field Analysis.
By this time, 70 % of his one eye and 10 % of his other was already damaged.
We tok him to SHANKARA NETRALAYA, Chennai, then to Bangkok.
But the loss was irreversible. Medical science is
yet to find a remedy. Moreover, even after applying highest
doses of medicine and Laser surgery, his eye sight continued to
deteriorated. Within last one year, we took him to SNEC Singapore
and did several painful and expensive surgeries.
But, by this time, he completely lost one of his eye sight. Friends,
he is getting blond, each day, slowly. Those of you are father,
you may realize, how painful it is for a dad to see his only son
loosing sight each day.

But, yet, RAAD is fighting with it. He still goes to school and
trying to learn something before he looses the ability to read.

Meanwhile, I thought of letting him practice music.
I bought him guitar last month. He is trying to learn. In BD,
you all know that. Even a kingdom is left to a blind man, soon
after we close our eyes, people will kick the blind guy out and
his place will be beside a footpath, begging. Tell me
what should I do now ?

My only dream is now, to let him go good in music,
so that, someday, he might find a place in front of a huge Mall
in a civilized world, playing some instrument and begging. I hope,
there will be some social service people to pick him up and drop to his den.

Yesterday, I asked to play something with guitar and
I captured it, uploaded in you tube.

You have read many inspirational stories. I, just narrated you
something and want you to inspire my son. If you
write some comments, inspiring him, I think that will be a great help.

Lastly, I will remind all of you about the importance
of measuring Eye Pressure. Do ask the Eye Docs, to measure the eye pressure.

Wishes for you all.
