Dear Friends
Another problem which I am observing from this ongoing virus
problem in Yahoo groups is that in last several days many ids
have been declared as 'bouncing'. This means email delivery to
those ids is temporarily stopped, till the id holder makes space
by deleting unwanted mails from the mailbox and reactivates his accout.
In many cases 'Bouncing' status being shown by the yahoo server
has turned out to be false as those ids are in reality not overquota.
The ways to check whether your id has been declared "Bouncing' or not::
1) If you are receiving mails in a normal way, then your id is
not bouncing, hence no need to check.
2) If you have stopped receiving mails suddenly then it could
be either due to change in your subscription or because your
id is declared as 'bouncing'.
How to solve the problem. The first case has already been
covered by my earlier mail. To check whether your id is bouncing or
not ,go to the home page of the group by pasting the link in your browser
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hum-our-tum/
In case its bouncing then on top bar it will be mentioned
that your account is bouncing. It will also ask you to click
for making it unbounce. You should click that.
Then yahoo will send a mail to your id and ask you to click
a link for reactivation of your account. Click that and your
account will be reactivated.
IT IS A GOOD PRACTICE TO KEEP CHECKING YOUR SUBSCRIPTION STATUS
AND BOUNCING STATUS FROM TIME TO TIME. AT PRESENT SINCE
THE ONGOING VIRUS ATTACK IS DISTURBING THESE SETTINGS
IT WILL BE GOOD TO CHECK THESE TWO THINGS WHENEVER
YOU SIT TO READ THE GROUP MAILS.
