Bond, Pollard dominate IPL auction-3... West Indian Kieron Adrian Pollard became the most expensive purchase of the Indian Premier League player auction in Mumbai. The explosive Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard and New Zealand paceman Shane Bond emerged as the most expensive players, being sold for a whopping $750,000 at the auction for the third edition of the Indian Premier League.. Pollard, 22, will join the Mumbai Indians team after attracting an undisclosed winning fee. (Getty Images) A keen tussle was witnessed to grab Kiwi paceman Shane Bond with Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers making the highest bid. KKR boosted their bowling attack by getting Bond after a silent tie-breaker for $750,000. Bond had a base price of $100,000. The New Zealand bowler  was associated with the rebel Indian Cricket League and returned to the IPL fold only recently. The Proteas bowler had enjoyed a decent run with the national team in the recent past and has established  himself as a strike bowler of the team. Irish-born Morgan , a left-handed batsman, who has represented England in limited-overs internationals, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for $220,000.
