Some Beautiful places near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India Hill Station - Anantagiri Anantagiri Hill Station Anantagiri is located at the top of the Elysian Tirumala Hills approximately 17 km from Araku valley, which is 112 kms from Visakhapatnam. Among the ranges of the Eastern Ghats Anantagiri is located at a distance of 40 km from Visakhapatnam. Anantagiri is a charming hill resort in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Unchallenged beauty of this place attracts everyone including nature lovers , tourists, pilgrims etc. The beautiful hill resort of Anantagiri is perfect retreat to the blistering summer months. Walk across meadows of wild flowers and apple orchards in full bloom, see rushing streams cascade down the mountainside, and the snow-capped Himalayas in the distance, and enjoy exquisite views of sunrise and sunset at Anantagiri Hills. The Anantagiri hills attract tourists by its gorgeous sights and smells. Anantgiri is wrapped by many mango graves and orchades. The Bhavanasi Lake Anantagiri is referred to as the Badrinath of the South. Araku Valley : Araku Valley, 115-km from Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh is close to the Orissa State, border. This valley attracts people with pleasant weather, hills and valleys. The natural beauty of this valley comes alive with its rich landscape. The area of the valley is roughly 36-km and the altitude is between 600 and 900m above the sea level. Bheemunipatnam Beach : At a distance of 24 km. from Visakhapatnam, this beach is located at the mouth of the river Gosthani. The beach is very safe for swimmers. The journey between Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam is exhilarating. Borra Caves : At a distance of about 90-95-km from Vishakhapatnam are the Borra Caves, which attained historical and religious importance. Simhachalam : About 16 kms from Vishakhapatnam is Simhachalam, famous for the temple of Sri Varaha Lakshminarasimha. Architecturally this ancient temple deserves high praise. Ramakrishna Beach : One of the loveliest beaches on the East Coast, the Ramakrishna beach is a favorite resort for tourists visiting Vishakhapatnam. INS Kurusura Submarine. Rishikonda Beach : A golden, unspoiled beach, washed by the sun-warmed sea, Rishikonda is 8 km. away from Visakhapatnam. This spot is ideal for swimmers, water skiers, and wind surfers. Tourists can enjoy a holiday in picturesque settings. Dolphin's Nose A huge rock, 357m high, is shaped like a Dolphin's nose. The rock juts out into the sea, forming a headland on which is the lighthouse. This lighthouse has a beam that can be seen 65-km out at sea. Sri Venkateswara Konda : It is the third hillock, has a temple dedicated to the Lord. It is believed to have been built by an Englishman, Captain Blackmoor, in the 19th century. From this hillock one can see the port channel, which was the entrance of the inner harbour for ships and liners. Vuda Park : Vuda Park, also known as Taraka Rama Park, is one of the prime attractions in Visakhapatnam. It is a heavy crowd puller and has a dancing musical fountain. Indira Gandhi Zoological Park : hi Zoological Park is located in Vishakhapatnam amidst the scenic Eastern Ghats of India, flanked by hills on either sides and Bay of Bengal on the east. Kailasa giri: Kailasa giri is located on a hilltop and is a must to visiting place for all people visiting Vishakhapatnam It is one of the prominent hill top parks with panoramic sea view on the East Coast. Kailasagiri is a favorite location among the filmmakers all over India. The major attraction of the park is Lord Shiva Parvathi statue. The idol of Lord Shiva a top the hill stands tall at a height of 40 ft. The floral clock one of the biggest of India with a diameter of 10 ft. The floral clock gives an artistic impression on the lush green patches on the backdrop of the Shiva Parvathi statue. It stands as a land mark and attracting huge crowds..
