In Morocco, the souks of Fez and Marrakech can attract tourists even with their ambiance, if not with the indigenous products sold there. Description on the narrow alleys, the odor or spices, ethnic costume worn by the sellers and mongers, and on the crowded streets have found place in many travelogues also. Other prominent markets of Africa, which maintain a regional character, are Islamic Cairo market in Egypt, Kejetia Market in Kumasi, Ghana and Merkato in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
